The Republican National Convention begins July 15. Here’s how to watch it without cable (2025)

The Republican National Convention will begin Monday, July 15, just days after a gunman opened fire at a Trump campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, killing a bystander, wounding two others and grazing Trump’s ear. Former President Trump will officially become the GOP nominee for president during this week’s four-day event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Trump is expected to officially accept the nomination in a speech Thursday, July 18. This will be his third nomination since 2016. In addition to hearing from Trump, viewers will also hear from his yet-to-be-announced running mate, some of those who ran against him and other GOP figures.

Here’s how to stream the Republican National Convention if you don’t have traditional cable.

When is the Republican National Convention (RNC)?

The RNC will begin Monday when officials open the convention. Events will run through Thursday, July 18 when former President Trump will speak.

Where is the RNC taking place?

The Republican National Convention will take place this year in Milwaukee, WI at the Fiserv Forum and other nearby spaces. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther Arena will also be hosting additional events this week.

Wisconsin is expected to be a battleground state in the coming election later this year. Biden won the state over Trump in 2020 by an extremely slim margin.

What channel is the RNC on?

All major networks including CNN, Fox News, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News and MSNBC have all announced special coverage plans to cover the RNC. This will include special segments as well as live coverage. Viewers can expect prime-time sessions of Trump’s speech and other prominent Republicans and other guests to be live streamed.

How can I watch the RNC if I don’t have cable?

The streaming service Philo will streaming the RNC and offers a 7-day free trial to new subscribers. Other platforms offering live TV - including FuboTV and DirecTV Stream - will also broadcast the event on channels covering the RNC.

Who will be speaking at the RNC?

Trump is expected mark his official nomination as the 2024 Republican presidential candidate Thursday, July 18 at the RNC. His vice president pick (which has not yet been announced) is expected to speak on Wednesday, July 17. Members of Trump’s family, RNC leaders and other GOP officials are also expected to speak throughout the week. Some names on the list of speakers include Vivek Ramaswamy, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Tucker Carlson, Sen. Tim Scott, Sen. Marco Rubio and Gov. Doug Burgum.
