Our dear friend and ex colleague of Nestlé Shirshendu Gayen Gupi Gayen ( Shirshendu ) is fighting it out strongly, and on top of it, recently he had to undergo a surgery to remove an abdominal part due to gangrene…I humbly appeal to one and all to help him financially and morally and be part of this fight with him. Here is what his wife Moumita Gayen appeals… please read the full story till the end Shirshendu is suffering from a rare medical complication calledPolycythemia(also called erythrocytosis), which refers toincreased red blood cell mass, noted on laboratory evaluation as increased hemoglobin and hematocritlevels. This complication is somewhat rare in tropical countries and has a high probability of resulting in different types of cancer including Blood cancer soon or later. SomeDoctors recently advised him to undergoBoneMarrowBiopsy as they suspect the chances ofFibrosis. According to them he needsto follow periodically with hematologists as well oncologists to check the possible progression of fibrosis with reports of different moleculartests. There is also some risk of bleeding or clotting with life threatening complications that can be serious and not that uncommon.I heard that my husband was academically brilliant. He woninnumerableprizes/ awardsin state as well as national level in student life. He was a rank holder in Secondary examination, took West Bengal to the final of National Science Quest ( shown deferred live inDoordarshan, 1991), winner of Polar Science Scholarship(worth 10K in 1991 -a total of 40 students across India) as well came first nationwide in an essay competitionon the Anti Nuclear Movementco-organised by Science Society of India &ConsulateGeneral of the then USSR. In professional life he also did well till recent times as the above complication slowly started taking its toll...Now if I really look at the past I feel he was never intelligent or brilliant. He was a rank idiot to leave a high salaried MNC job to fulfill his dream of founding a small little start up towards creating employmentthat tooin West Bengal. But, after 1st failure he fought back well in his next venturesof B2B ConsultationStart-up as well as an independent professional. He had also been a Jury for selecting the best start-up for Hult Prize at IIT Kharagpur. But, asa damn fool his idea was to work 'leisurely' (just as much to earn bread & butter) and write a few books including own autobiography "Gupi's Diary 'All our savings are depleting slowly but steadily due to a very high mismatch of income & expensessince this was diagnosed. Every small little financial help from anyone will help him in this sudden tryst with destiny !!Our Account Details :1. Dear Aritro, as you embark on this “professional” journey of life, you will have to remember few things- 1) committment is the key 2) Respect everyone equally at the workplace, whether it’s your boss, peer or the canteen staff 3) Develop the habit of saying “no” politely when you disagree to something 4) Challenge the status quo when necessary 5) Be Ethical and true to your principles 6) Invite ideas, opinions and suggestions from others to help you make an informed decision 7) Motivate yourself to motivate others 8) Enjoy what you do, else don’t do it 9) Don’t chase success, chase excellence. Success will follow 10) Give back what you get I am proud of you and your achievements. Wish you good luck in your life 👍

Completely agree. In order, I would rather put people first and then data and then offering. Because, what finally is put as offering is based on data analytics and insight. All these are eventually led by people. Without the power of good people, nothing is eventually good in any organisation.
