That Gov Foss Will Not Make Any Nomination on Wednesday The report Is current about town today that Governor Foss will not make any nomination Wednesday of a police and license commissioner to succeed the present incumbent James Tansey It is presumed that the governor Is stll casting about for a man with the true Democratic brand one who will make a satisfactory solution of the muddle that the governor has gotten himself into The opposition in the executive council to his personal choice ex-Mayor John Coughlln Is reported to be as strong as ever and it is thought it would not be possible to secure a confirmation of his name If it were sent in On the other hand there are those who confidently look for the ultimate appointment and confirmation of the ex-mayor as successor to Mr Tansey A good story floats down from Boston about a local man who presented his qualifications to the governor as a candidate for the position Among them he stated that he had been in the liquor business when he was only a boy and that after that he had held a license in this city for quite a number of years untihabout two or three years ago He maintained that he knew all ends of the game The governor Is reported to have told him that he was not bashful at any rate in presenting his qualifications for the position There are some other good stories that might be told about what Governor Foes thinks of some of the people that have appeared before him In regard to this appointment but for the sake of allowing the Democratic party to maintain its present peaceful and harmonious condition they are Product Will Be Made Fall River people little realize what a great big surprising attractive anri fascinating affair the Centennial expa-Bitlon at the Armory )a to be For weeks preparations have been going OB involving a great amount of labor and large expense that this exhibition might be one grand and glorious success The marvelous beauty of the decorations will be a most stupendous surprise to every visitor The enchantment of every visitor who succeeds In gaining admission will be so complete that they will not rest until all of their friends have also been delighted with a visit The ravishing beauty of the interior of the exposition alone will be well worth 25 cents of anyone's money even though a person only stands still in one place and does not examine the numerous Interesting exhibits The entire space Inside will be covered with decoration the genera) color scheme being baby-blue All will be uniform as to color all the booths of uniform hlght and general appearance and that appearance richly fine Nearly four miles of cotton bunting aH fire -proof arid a yard wide will be used in the decorations All this bunting la from a well known Fall River cotton mill Thousand of sprays of rare and well known flowers roses and fruits will be used in trimming the booths Many rare terns and- leaves of absolutely natural growth coming from far away Australia will be used In the decorations some of those genuine Australlm ferns are very delicate and beautiful Genuine Australian maiden-hair ferns Will be plentiful These naturally grown plants and ferns have all been chemically treated for Are-proofing and for preservation Not only is all the decorating mate-rial plants flowers etc nre-proor but every added precaution will be taken against fire by having plenty ot fire extinguishing apparatus on hand All the woodwork used will be fireproof Not a nail or screw will be used to fasten things to the floor or building Should the weather be warm there will be numerous electric cooling fans to keep the people cool It will be a very convenient place for the public to drop In and get cool and comfortable during any warm weather we may have It is also a gratifying fact that the number and variety of attractive displays of Fall River products will have an equally powerful drawing power and this alone should be enough to draw the same' person to the exposition again and again For the com- "blned fascination of the decorations and of the exhibits of local handicraft a visit to the exposition wUl be worth double the 25 cents admission fee asked But when as will be the case hundreds of corporations and merchants give a special value coupon exchangeable for a full admission ticket liy the payment of only 15 cents It is putting it mildly to say that every visitor who gets admission for 15 cents will easily get four times his money's worth The beauty alone without the exhibits or the exhibits alone without the decorations' will be- enough make the exposition an unqualified success Combined they will draw so strongly that the only thing to worry Hie committee is how to make It possible for the multitude who will seek admission to get a chance to get in Among
