International Journal of Handheld Computing Research, 2016
Ebrahim Mansour
Many studies and authors' own studies suggest that e-learning system is the solution that will establish an educational framework for e-health implementation. Therefore, it is essential in order to achieve success, to assess and evaluate the attitude of the nursing community - who are the end users - towards the possibility of implementing the 'E-learning system' as a solution to educate the nursing community. In this research, a survey captured 52 nurses' attitudes towards an on line e-learning website and showed that nurses have positive attitude.

Özkan Özbay
Due to the increasing number of students in nursing education, the need to support traditional education and to provide blended or distance learning have incited the trend of utilizing e-learning in training nurses. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of satisfaction, readiness, and expectation in relation to the e-learning process among 3rd year nursing students. Data of this descriptive study was collected electronically in July 2020.The study group consisted of 91 students who were studying in University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, and enrolled in the Child Health and Disease Nursing course. Study data were collected through the "Introductory Information Form" containing the introductory information of the students, the "Readiness and Expectation Scale for the e-Learning Process" and the “Satisfaction Scale for the e-Learning Process ". It was found that there was a significant relationship between students’ family income and the level of satisfaction regarding e-learning process. In addition, there was a significant relationship between the age of the students and the value of readiness and expectation regarding e-learning. Findings stated that paying more attention to interaction, particularly in practical courses, and using materials enriching the course content will positively influence students’ expectations and satisfaction, during online nursing courses.

Perspectives in Psychiatric Care
Naif Abdali
Aim. The education system has transitioned from traditional learning to e-learning. Earlier, researchers tested the feasibility of e-learning for nursing students. However, whether satisfaction with e-learning affects students’ mental health remains unknown. This study aimed to determine the influence of satisfaction with e-learning on mental health (stress, anxiety, and depression) among undergraduate nursing students. Methods. This study design was cross-sectional, correlational, and descriptive. Data were collected between April and December 2022 from local nursing colleges in 13 regions in Saudi Arabia. A convenience sampling method was employed to recruit undergraduate nursing students. One hundred forty-four students responded to the online questionnaire. Results. Nursing students demonstrated moderate levels of anxiety (M = 9.89 (SD = 4.28)), stress (M = 10.40 (SD = 4.05)), and depression (M = 9.64 (SD = 4.38)). The average satisfaction with e-learning score was 2.79 (SD = 0....

Online learning: enhancing nurse education
Journal of Advanced Nursing, 2002
Amanda Kenny
Online learning: enhancing nurse education?Aims of the study. The aim of this study was to explore the experiences of nursing students with `online' learning.Background. The need to integrate information technology into nursing education has been recognized and well documented. In spite of this, information technology remains a neglected subject in many nursing programmes. Strategies have been considered for increasing the integration of information technology in nursing education. One of the key issues identified is the need for research into the factors that contribute to optimal learning with information technology, specifically the need to explore issues that contribute to student frustration and satisfaction with learning. Within Australia, the incorporation of information technology as a core subject in nursing education is still relatively new. This article describes how one university used `online' learning to expose students to conceptual and experiential opportunities that enabled them to develop skills in the management of information technology.Methods. Twenty-one students participated in this qualitative study. Individual interviews were used to develop insights into student perceptions. Thematic analysis enabled refined themes to emerge. These themes formed the basis of focus group discussions. Focus groups were used to enhance and validate the information from one-to-one interviews by using group dynamics to add experiential richness to the data.Findings. Four major themes emerged: computer confidence, flexibility, active learning and practicalities of teaching.Conclusions. The integration of information technology into nursing education requires a dramatic change in thinking. The `learning curve' is steep for both student and educator and there are many issues that need to be considered. This research does not aim to provide solutions to the issues highlighted but rather offers recommendations for enhancing the teaching and learning experience.

e-Learning readiness amongst nursing students at the Durban University of Technology
Marí Peté
e-Learning and other innovative open learning multimedia modalities of delivering education are being introduced to enhance learning opportunities and facilitate student access to and success in education. This article reports on a study that assessed students' readiness to make the shift from traditional learning to the technological culture of e-Learning at a university in Durban. A quasi-experimental study design was employed to assess such readiness in first year nursing students before and after an appropriate educational intervention. A modified Chapnick Readiness Score was used to measure their psychological , equipment and technological readiness for the change in learning method. It was found that, while students' psychological readiness for e-Learning was high, they lacked technological and equipment readiness. Although e-Learning could be used in nursing education, technological and equipment readiness require attention before it can be implemented effectively in this institution. Fortunately, these technical aspects are easier to resolve than improving psychological readiness.
